A late-night sketch comedy show in the style of the Neo-Futurists group. Here’s the basic pitch: all 13 students in the Acting From The Director's Perspective wrote original short plays (some are very short) and 20 of them were selected to be performed in no more than 40 minutes (seriously, we’re going to have a timer going). Also, the audience will choose the order of the plays, and there will probably be some other surprises along the way. FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY, SATURDAY, MARCH 18, AT 10:30 PM IN THE STUDIO THEATER!!
Shakespeare’s most famous comedy of unrequited lovers and fairies and ridiculous mechanicals will be supplanted and reset in the 1950s, to draw attention to the themes of gender roles and class within the story. Using a cutting of the original text, Shakespeare’s language will be used to get to the bare bones of the classic show.
