Erica Lee is a Los Angeles-based pianist and educator. She is currently pursuing a D.M.A. in Piano Performance at USC’s Thornton School of Music, where she also earned her B.M. and M.M. under the guidance of Dr. Lucinda Carver and Jeffrey Kahane. Erica serves as a keyboard studies teaching assistant, lecturing group piano classes and private teaching for non-major undergraduate students. She is an active member of the Music Teachers National Association USC Collegiate Chapter, has represented the chapter at the MTNA National Conference, and proudly serves on the board of officers to organize and provide additional teaching resources, opportunities, and workshops to USC music students. She also holds a B.S. in Business Administration from USC's Marshall School of Business.

An avid music educator, Erica is a faculty member at the Pasadena Conservatory of Music and is certified as an elementary piano teacher through the Royal Conservatory of Music. At USC, Erica served as a mentor with the Thornton Community Engagement Program, through which she taught group music classes, accompanied choir rehearsals, and curated a concert series for students at partnering Los Angeles Unified School District elementary schools. Outside the classroom, Erica was also involved in the Thornton Student Ambassador Program, where she served as Ambassador Leader in her final year. She simultaneously completed a B.S. in Business Administration and was honored as a Renaissance Scholar upon graduation.

Erica is a proud alumnus of the Pasadena Conservatory of Music where she studied solo piano and chamber music with artist-teacher, Dr. Susan Svrcek. At PCM, she was an avid performer and regularly took part in student showcases and played in masterclasses by Dr. Caroline Oltmann, Gilead Mishory, Dr. Raymond Ericksen, and Craig Richey, just to name a few. In 2015, she was named the inaugural recipient of the Estelle Broussard Schlueter Piano Scholarship.

Beyond piano, Erica has a diverse musical background. With nine years of experience studying flute with Ginny Atherton, she made her solo debut with the LA Premiere Orchestra conducted by Norman Henry Mamey at the age of 14. She was awarded the inaugural Norman Henry Mamey Music Scholarship in the following year. Erica has also played as a featured soloist with the Pasadena Summer Youth Chamber Orchestra at the Young Artists’ Concert and the La Cañada High School Orchestra for the LCHS Concerto Concert. In addition, Erica was a USC Thornton Concert Choir member led by Dr. Cristian Grases, performing at various collegiate festivals and conferences.

Over the pandemic and in partnership with PCM, Erica started the podcast series, “Practice Break”, and co-hosted the episodes with Ashley Cheng, a childhood friend, and duet partner. Together, the duo dived into their experiences navigating the world of classical music as students and young professionals.
