Violinist Kearston Gonzales made her orchestral debut at the age of nine performing Vivaldi’s Concerto in G Minor. Most recently, she had the opportunity to perform at Symphony Hall as part of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra children’s concert series “In Pursuit of Dreams” (February 2023). Kearston has performed as a soloist with the Virginia Symphony Orchestra during their annual tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (April 2022) as well as the Mozart Experience (January 2022). She made her Carnegie Hall debut in 2019 as a result of winning the Rondo Vanguard Competition.
Kearston has won numerous competitions in the US, beginning at the age of seven, and began playing the violin at the age of three. She is a two-time Sphinx Competition Junior Division semi-finalist (2020 and 2021).
Kearston has attended MusicAlp International Music Academy (Tignes, France), Heifetz International Music Institute (Staunton, Virginia), Center Stage Strings (Ann Arbor, Michigan), Junior Greenwood (Cummington, MA) and is a 2022 graduate of the Manhattan School of Music Pre-College Program.
In addition to formal concerts, she shares her love of classical music through outreach programs for public schools, children's hospitals and music programs across the country. She also performs virtually for hospitalized elderly patients through the Hospital Elder Life Program with Hackensack Meridian Health. In 2015, Kearston founded Time For 2 Violin and Cello Duo performing for civic, and charitable events around the US.
Kearston is currently a sophomore at the New England Conservatory in Boston, Massachusetts studying under the guidance of Professor Soovin Kim.
