Biography

(She/Her)  Sarah Lucas-Page is a composer, performer, and teacher that believes in social justice and creating a different with music. Her main goal is to create and perform music that can impact change in both the LGBTQIA+ community and equality for women. When Sarah is not composing or performing she is teaching private students on woodwinds, piano, ukulele, or chamber ensembles. Sarah is an upcoming 2023 graduate of Arizona State University with an undergraduate degree in Music Theory and Composition.

Biography

Sarah Lucas-Page

Sarah is an award-winning composer in Arizona and has been performing and making music for almost her entire life. She initially fell in love with music when she started playing clarinet at age 9. Since then she has been performing in concert bands, chamber ensembles, and as a soloist. Sarah currently is going to Arizona State University to complete her undergrad degree in composition. She is set to graduate May 2023 and will be attending Graduate school in the fall. 

Sarah has worked with groups all over Arizona to create beautiful and inspiring music. She was commissioned by the West Valley Youth Orchestra in 2020 to create a string ensemble piece with solo string quartet for their 2020 summer camp (the premiere of the piece was pushed to 2021 because of COVID-19). Sarah Has also been a participant in the Fresh Inc. Festival 2021 where DREAMERS (string quartet) was commissioned.

Sarah has been teaching privately for two years as well as in large groups for five years. She currently teaches woodwinds, ukulele, piano, early childhood music, and composition at Rhapsody School of Music in Anthem, Arizona. She is also traveling around the Arizona valley working for Phoenix Conservatory of Music helping build up high school band programs that were effected by pandemic in 2020.
