ANDREW OTCHERE (awe-tree) is a first generation Ghanaian-American actor, writer, director, and filmmaker from Loudoun County, Virginia. He is a senior at the University of Michigan pursuing a BFA in Acting with a double minor in Arts Management & Sociology. Though beginning as a theatre performer at 10 years old, his passion for storytelling has evolved and manifested itself into writing, directing, and developing his own work. Growing up Black in predominately white spaces, queer in a conservative community, and broke in the “richest county in the US”, he is no stranger to feeling like an outsider. Through it all, laughter in the face of discomfort became his best friend and is now what fuels the stories he creates. In addition to the arts, he enjoys comedy, fashion, beach volleyball, and living his life like he’s the main character in a coming of age movie.
