Emma (Emmy) LaPlante is a devoted actress and arts administrator. Her passion for creating a space for artistic expression has made her want to pursue her Bachelor of Science in Theatre Creation. She has had the opportunity to explore her other interests through her three minors in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Leadership Studies, and Sociology. Coupled with her administrative passion she has never let her love of performing die out. She can be seen as Philomel in Polaroid Stories by Naomi Iizuka this spring in Muncie, Indiana. She will graduate as a member of the Ball State University class of 2023 and is thrilled to see where her interests and talents will take her in the upcoming years. As a College of Fine Arts employee, she worked in The College of Fine Arts Box Office and as a House Manager. She has experience house managing shows in the Cave Theatre, Korsgaard Dance Studio, Strother Theatre, and University Theatre. Her customer service and problem-solving skills come in handy in these roles. This experience has proved to be valuable as she learned that arts administration is something she would love to pursue in the future. Besides her theatrical credits, Emma has had the opportunity to use her management and leadership skills as a Resident Assistant at Ball State University and as a Summer Camp Counselor at the University of Michigan Museum of Natural History.
