Bonnets: How Ladies of Good Breeding are Induced to Murder

Description

'Weaving between the 17th and 19th Centuries, this absurdist, campy exploration of love and violence shows how easily three women become murderers. Written by Jen Silverman (the most performed playwright in the country), Bonnets was originally commissioned by the Big Ten Theatre Consortium, whose goal is to promote the writing and production of new works about women by professional and academic theatres around the country.'

Shelby Alexander

Resume

Shelby Alexander (she/her) is a student at the University of Michigan studying theatre arts. With concentrations in playwriting and dramaturgy, she hopes to develop new work in the future. Shelby is a multidisciplinary artist who enjoys melding new technology and ideas with classic, theatrical storytelling. Her favorite project to date is playing Cathy in a queer-femme production of The Last Five Years (dir. Maddie Davidson) in the Duderstadt Film Center.
