Eleanor Legault
(She/Her) Baroque violinist Eleanor Legault is a versatile performer and interpreter of early music, with engagements across North America and Europe. Co-founder of Duo Moda, her ensemble's first CD is expected to release in 2024. Eleanor currently studies historical violin performance at The Juilliard School, and her artistic research focuses on early 19th century performance practice and the embodiment of historical acting techniques. She has presented at conferences in the US and Canada and also holds a degree in English Literature.

Description

In Respighi’s Ancient Airs and Dances, lute songs of the Renaissance are transformed into dramatic music for the modern string orchestra. Dvořák’s famous Serenade brings his trademark Czech lyricism to the string ensemble, creating lush textures and dazzling virtuosity. The brilliance of one of history’s greatest Renaissance men, the Classical era composer and revolutionary colonel Joseph Bologne, shines in his tuneful ninth violin concerto.
