I am currently a violin fellow in TON (The Orchestra Now) at Bard College. I am also pursuing my Alexander Technique 1600 Teacher Certification at the Balance Arts Center in NYC. I am in a percussion-violin duo with Tony Kirk , perform around NYC (see me at St Marks on Sundays!) and collaborate on new music projects.

Part of TŌN’s Fisher Center concert series
Award-winning mezzo-soprano Stephanie Blythe, artistic director of Bard Conservatory’s Graduate Vocal Arts Program, joins TŌN for an all-Brahms concert. She performs his profound and dramatic Alto Rhapsody, based on a Goethe poem, which he composed as a wedding gift for the daughter of Robert and Clara Schumann, for whom he once carried a torch. The program also includes tenor Joshua Blue in the sweeping cantata Rinaldo, inspired by another Goethe poem about a knight who has been enchanted by a cunning sorceress. And we conclude with Brahms’ masterful First Symphony, which the composer toiled over for 14 years before its debut performance.

Part of TŌN’s Free Concerts series
TŌN Resident Conductor Zachary Schwartzman returns with the orchestra to Symphony Space for another free concert. The program comprises Mendelssohn’s fiery Ruy Blas Overture; Prokofiev’s masterful Violin Concerto No. 2 with soloist Yangxin Song, a winner of the 2022 Bard Conservatory Concerto Competition; and Sibelius’ voluptuous Symphony No. 1.

Biography
A native of Brooklyn, NY, Haley Gillia began violin studies at the age of 4. As a kid, she attended The Special Music School (SMS) on the Upper West Side of NYC. She attended Vanderbilt University's Blair School of Music as a student of Carolyn Huebl, and Chicago College of Performing Arts as a student of Almita Vamos. She currently studies with Nurit Pacht.
As a soloist and chamber musician, Haley has appeared at Merkin Hall, NY Phil Biennial, and the Ecstatic Music Festival among others. She is currently a member of a violin-percussion duo with Tony Kirk, performing and commissioning new works, and a violin fellow at The Orchestra Now (TŌN)
Haley is also a poet, newbie composer, and student of the Alexander Technique as part of the Balance Arts Center Balance Arts Center’s Teacher Training Program. In her downtime, you might find her watching Bravo, playing with her two cats, or finding new restaurants to enjoy.
Haley has made appearances at festivals such as Brevard Music Festival, 2014–15; Bowdoin International Music Festival, 2016; New Music on the Point, 2017; Chautauqua Institution MSFO, 2018; Spoleto Festival USA, 2023
