Maya Vansuch Wurth is a native of Dayton, Ohio. She was most recently seen with the Dayton Opera as Young Katie in the world premiere of Finding Wright by Laura Kaminsky. Maya was an Artist-in-Residence with the Dayton Opera for their 2019-2020 season, where she was the soprano soloist in The Messiah and Clorinda in La Cenerentola. Following her residency, Maya participated in the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance Summer Streams series, performing a recital with pianist John Benjamin, as well as singing in A Celebration from Carillon Historical Park. Other roles include Annina in La Traviata with the Dayton Opera, Najade in Ariadne auf Naxos with the IU Opera Theatre, the title role in Patience with the University Gilbert and Sullivan Society, and Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance with the University Gilbert and Sullivan Society. Maya received her Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in 2018, studying under Alice Hopper. Maya is currently an adjunct professor of voice at the University of Dayton.
