Praised as a "sensitive pianist" who delivers "powerful interpretations," Nicole Elyse DiPaolo is a versatile collaborative pianist, composer, arranger, and teacher based in Nashville, TN. Notable recent engagements include premiering H. Leslie Adams' Grand March for Trumpet and Piano with the composer in attendance--then later performing in his 90th birthday gala concert; playing continuo harpsichord with the Camerata del Sol for its Baroque on the Border concerts; substituting as orchestral keyboard with the Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra, two livestreamed solo recitals with Sing for Hope’s Open Arts initiative, the Quarantine Concert Series and Mozart’s The Magic Flute with the Spooky Goose Opera, appearances as a Collaborative Piano Fellow for the Bay View Music Festival’s SOARS program, and two long-term cruise ship tours with violinist Amy Lee as the Duo del Mare. When not onstage, Ms. DiPaolo is an active online instructor of piano, music theory, and composition, as well as an acclaimed composer and arranger of educational and concert music, including the Accessible Accompaniments series of playable aria reductions and ready-made audition cuts.
A Detroit-area native, Ms. DiPaolo holds degrees from Indiana University and from the University of Michigan, where her studies included music theory, piano (primary teachers include Michele Cooker and Louis Nagel), composition (Bright Sheng), and basso continuo (Edward Parmentier).
