Imran Amarshi is currently a graduate student at Northwestern University where he studies conducting with Dr. Mallory Thompson. Prior to this, he served as a Sessional Lecturer at the University of British Columbia where he conducted the UBC Concert Winds. As a strong supporter of music education, Imran was the Director of Bands and a Department Head Teacher at Notre Dame Regional Secondary School for five years. At Notre Dame, he lead the instrumental music program and conducted four wind ensembles, two jazz ensembles and three handbell ensembles. Imran graduated with his Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Education degrees from UBC where he studied clarinet with Jenny Jonquil and conducting with Dr. Robert Taylor.
