As Director, the primary responsibility was to develop and implement a Strategic Plan to achieve the organization’s mission, growth, and goals. This was done through maintaining organization’s budget and fundraising through private donor development, grant writing, and securing partnerships. Responsibilities also included cultivating relationships with presenting organizations around the country, generate artistic programing, project management, creating schedules for goal deadlines, handling outgoing payments to vendors and independent contractors, working with organization’s lawyers and accountants on contracts, tax filing, and other documents.

This was accomplished through development of video content and sponsored Social Media campaigns to increase number of interactions, creating email campaigns with various "Call to Actions", Digital Advertising, and maintaining organization’s website to feature upcoming events, showcase media, sell merchandise, and grow subscriber base. Used tools like Google and Facebook Analytics to determine effectiveness.

Biography

Matt Cook

Matt Cook is an artist and performing arts executive in Los Angeles, California. He has successfully built small to mid-sized performing arts organizations and connected them with the communities they serve. His current position is as Executive and Development Director of Pacific Opera Project. There he leads all financial, partnership, fundraising, and administrative operations for the organization. Matt has also held positions in development and production with Wild Up New Music ensemble. There, he was responsible for overseeing operations for all events and fundraising activities. Matt produced performances on the Los Angeles Philharmonic's Fluxus Festival, the Ecstatic Music Festival in New York City, and led partnerships with organizations such as the Martha Graham Dance Company. Previously, Matt worked with the Los Angeles Percussion Quartet in various roles as Managing Director, Project Manager, and Marketing Manager, leading the organization to international recognition in their field. Matt is also a Grammy Award® winning performer. His work is heard on studio and film recordings such as Aquaman and various Netflix series, and has been seen live in performance with ensembles across the world. As an educator, Matt has been a featured clinician at several universities including Stanford and The San Francisco Conservatory of Music and has maintained faculty positions at many local institutions. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Matt holds degrees from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and the California Institute of the Arts.
