Kirsten Lee
(She/Her) Kirsten Lee is a violinist and music educator based in Ann Arbor. She is currently pursuing Master of Music degrees in violin performance and chamber music at the University of Michigan. She is a recent graduate from Northwestern University's Bienen School of Music where she majored in violin performance and instrumental music education. Kirsten maintains an active teaching career as an educator in both public schools and private teaching. She is also a freelance musician and has performed in venues within the Chicagoland and Detroit areas.

Biography

Kirsten Lee

Kirsten Lee is a violinist and music educator who is currently pursuing Master of Music degrees in violin performance and chamber music at the University of Michigan's (U-M) School of Music, Theater, and Dance. She currently serves as the principal 2nd violin of U-M's University Philharmonia Orchestra, and as the concertmaster of the Contemporary Directions Ensemble. Kirsten is also a frequent substitute for the Ann Arbor and Adrian Symphony Orchestras, and is also a substitute teacher for the music programs of the Ann Arbor Public School District. She is a recent graduate of Northwestern’s Bienen School of Music, where she studied violin performance and music education. She was a concertmaster and principal 2nd violin in the Northwestern University Symphony Orchestra (NUSO), the Northwestern University Chamber Orchestra (NUCO), and a soloist and leader with the Baroque Music Ensemble (BME). Kirsten served as NUSO's concertmaster for the world premiere recording of Stacy Garrop's Terra Nostra. Kirsten served on Northwestern’s NAfME executive board as the President and was a teacher at Evanston Young Artists where she taught free private lessons to students from underprivileged communities.
