Mexican-American violist Santiago Del Castillo Aréchiga has had a varied and extensive musical career for the last decade. Santiago received his Bachelor of Music degree from the Mannes School of Music under the tutelage of Daniel Panner and is currently pursuing his Masters degree at Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music under Helen Callus. Throughout his career Santiago has performed for Li-Kuo Chang, Robert Levine, Nokuthula Ngwenyama, Shmuel Katz, Peter Slowick, Jessica Meyer, André Roy, Masumi Rostad, and worked with members of the Dover, Attacca, Shanghai, Lark, and Juilliard string quartets. In the Orchestral world Santiago has led the Mannes Orchestra and Northwestern Symphony as well as performances with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. An avid performer of new music with a commitment to upholding works from marginalized communities, Santiago has collaborated with numerous established and rising living composers.
