Rosario Galante is currently Assistant Principal, 2nd, and E-Flat Clarinet with the Omaha Symphony. Galante was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska and began playing the clarinet around the age of 9. He took lessons with his father, Carmelo Galante, the Principal Clarinetist of the Omaha Symphony. In 2018, Galante graduated with a Bachelor’s of Music and Performer’s Certificate from the Eastman School of Music and graduated with his Master’s of Music from Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music in 2020. Galante’s teachers also include Jon Manasse, Kenneth Grant, Steve Cohen, and Mark Nuccio Prior to joining the Dayton Philharmonic, Galante has been a substitute musician for The Omaha Symphony, Symphoria (Syracuse), and The Battle Creek Symphony Orchestra. Galante has spent his summers participating in several notable music festivals such as Marrowstone Music Festival, the Round Top Festival Institute, and the Sebago Long Lake Music Festival. In his free time, Galante enjoys watching Nebraska football, the Buffalo Bills, and the New York Yankees. When not participating in summer music festivals, Galante also plays recreational baseball in the summer for the Cincinnati Outlaws. During the orchestral season, Galante also maintains a small private studio of clarinetists in the Dayton/Cincinnati area, as well as over zoom.
