Nicholas Dold joined the Michigan State University College of Music in 2025 as the Assistant Director of Career Education & Entrepreneurship. With over thirteen years of professional experience as a performer, educator, and arts administrator, he is passionate about equipping the next generation of music professionals with strategic skills and insights to thrive in today’s music industry. Prior to his appointment at MSU, he served on the faculty and staff at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and Santa Clara University.

As a performer, Nicholas has been a featured artist with Minnesota Public Radio’s “Performance Today”, the Kansas City Symphony, Indiana Public Radio, Chamber Music Silicon Valley, the Orchestral Institute of Napa Valley, the Santa Cruz Baroque Music Festival, the Duxbury Music Festival, and the Ladies Musical Club of Seattle. Additionally, he has served in management and operation roles with Opera San Jose, the U.S. Open Music Competition, the Indiana University Summer Piano Academy, and the Band of Angels Kansas CIty - Fox News 5 music non-profit.
Prior to his appointment at MSU, he served on the faculty and staff at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and Santa Clara University. He is currently completing an M.B.A. from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business and holds his graduate and undergraduate degrees in music performance from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.
