Alexandra Rodrick

American operatc soprano Alexandra Rodrick is by turns a fiercely dominating force and a deeply sensitive storyteller on the operatic stage. She has performed Carmen under the baton of Maestro Seiji Ozawa and has distinguished herself as a fearless singing actress with powerful vocal facility in roles such as Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Santuzza (Cavalleria rusticana), Angelina (La Cenerentola), Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Prince Charmant (Cendrillon), Dido (Dido and Aeneas), and La Ciesca (Gianni Schicchi). She has performed in leading opera houses across the United States, including San Diego Opera, Chautauqua Opera, Wolf Trap Opera, Atlanta Opera, Opera Delaware, and Des Moines Metro Opera, and has appeared in concerts and operas throughout Mexico, Japan, Switzerland, and Germany. 

A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Rodrick holds an Artist Diploma from the Opera Institute at Boston University and a Bachelors of Arts from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, California. Rodrick is an alumna of several notable training programs, including Wolf Trap Opera, Aspen Opera Theater, and Des Moines Metro Opera.

This season, she debuts the role of Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus with the Dresdener Residenz Orchester and performs selections as Gioconda (La Gioconda), Tosca (Tosca), Leonora (La forza del destino), Lady Macbeth (Macbeth) and Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte) in concert. She is increasingly recognized for her  interpretations of Verdi and the Verismo repertoire and is a dramatic rising star to watch.
