Description
Young Artists from around the world, based at the University of South Carolina and NYC, join their esteemed Faculty for two performances - A Festival of Voices!
This first of two performances is an unrepeatable afternoon of music. With a thread of storyline weaving together Arias & Art Songs from centuries apart, this performance highlights the individual artist's strengths through a semi-staged whole company performance.
From beloved classic opera characters such as Rosina from Il barbiere di Siviglia to the humorous Witch in Hänsel und Gretel, you are sure to leave the Theatre with an ear worm or two ~ !

Phenomenal young artists from around the world, based at the University of South Carolina and NYC, join their esteemed Faculty for two performances as they explore masterpieces by composers who emigrated and achieved citizenship in the U.S. --- Songs of Hope, Exile & New Beginnings!
Through music by Dvořák, Korngold, Kurt Weill, Martinů, Rachmaninoff, Stravinsky, and others, we will explore journeys of hope, longing, exile, belonging, and the universal search for home. These composers crossed borders, cultures, and turbulent times, reminding us that music has always possessed the power to unite us across differences and illuminate our shared humanity.
