Branching out to the Pooler Community for a second season, take a trip down memory lane with your favorite songs of a bygone era. Justin Havard and Festival Artists are joined by a big band ensemble, as they perform WWII-inspired music under the wings of the B-17 Flying Fortress “City of Savannah” at the historic Mighty Eighth museum.
A Festival favorite event, Timothy L. Hall and the Festival artists offer an afternoon of musical inspiration and comfort in the beautiful sanctuary of Savannah’s First Baptist Church.
The “God on Broadway” church of Asbury Memorial is the perfect backdrop for a wonderful tribute to musical theatre. Show tune standards - old and new – come back to the Festival in a spectacular homage to the “great white way” as only our wonderful singers can deliver!
As the Festival comes to a close, we will leave you wanting to “come back home” as we reunite artists and audiences in a fabulous garden party of food, drink and musical gems from SVF’s classic formula of opera, musical theatre and song.
Along with the greatest songs, the best original arrangements and phenomenal musicianship, Jeremy Davis and Clay Johnson bring their rich camaraderie and charm to the stage. Making their own revisions to the Great American songbook, this recipe for 100% audience approval includes the favorite melodies from recent history–a dash of Motown, a shot of Country, some folk and rock sprinkled on top–and the stories behind them, serving up a musical banquet that feeds every soul.
