Caleb Yanez Glickman

Caleb Yanez Glickman is a conductor, coach, and multi-instrumentalist based in Los Angeles. He was recently appointed as music director of the Hollywood Youth Orchestra, where he leads several ensembles in a variety of programming dedicated to building community commitment to classical music. He is also the assistant conductor of Artes Vocales, a Pasadena based adult choir.

His other recent conducting projects include working as music director on the Ohio premiere of Joseph Bologne’s L’Amant Anonyme. He also led Handel’s Partenope with CCM’s Studio Opera in 2020 and worked as assistant conductor more recently with Opera Southwest, Opera Saratoga, and the Savannah Voice Festival.

Caleb received his BFA from Carnegie Mellon University in Vocal Performance. At Carnegie Mellon, Caleb worked as the assistant conductor of the All University Orchestra for several years, including working as music director for the organization’s chamber ensembles.

He has always been a stalwart for both new music and for opportunities for music to engage with the community. He composed and music directed a work for the micro-opera festival Opera Harmony, whose pieces were broadcast by Opera Vision in 2020. In 2018, he coordinated and led an ensemble fully comprised of students in an independently organized performance of Handel’s Judas Maccabeus in remembrance of the victims of the Tree of Life Shooting. The concert was held at a synagogue nearby in Squirrel Hill, Pittsburgh.

Caleb holds a Master’s in Orchestral Conducting from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, and he was a member of the Artist’s Diploma program in Opera Coaching in 2021-22. He will be the music director for the upcoming production of The Pirates of Penzance with Pacific Opera Project.
