Biography

Hailey Cohen

Chicago based mezzo-soprano, Hailey Cohen, is a recent graduate of the University of Michigan School of Music, Theater and Dance receiving her Master's in Vocal Performance. Role highlights include Ember and Asintmah (cover) in David Shenton’s opera Future Perfect with Bellissima Opera, K. in Joshua Brown’s chamber opera Would You Eat Me? with Thompson Street Opera, Hänsel in Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel with Vienna Summer Music Festival, Orfeo in Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice, and Littler Daughter in Missy Mazzoli’s Proving Up with University of Michigan Opera. Additionally, she studied the role of Cherubino in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro and covered the role of Dorabella in Mozart’s Così fan tutte. Hailey is excited to be joining Thompson Street Opera again this fall to perform the role of Sally/ Teacho in Pedro Finasterra’s chamber opera The Boy Who Wanted to be a Robot. In January Hailey will join Cedar Rapids Opera as  Resident Young Artist.
