Prize winner of the Maria Callas Grand Prix in Athens, Italian- American soprano Shelley Jackson has earned critical praise in a number of title roles across Europe, as "a bel canto virtuoso" and "a tragedienne of the highest order". In recent seasons, she debuted as Tosca at Malmö Opera, Anna Bolena at the Badisches Staatstheater and Opéra de Lausanne, and Manon at the Salzburg Landestheater.

She recently debuted as Tosca at Malmö Opera and the Schleswig-Holsteinsiche Landestheater, Anna Bolena at the Badisches Staatstheater, Opéra de Lausanne and Opernhaus Zürich (cover), and Manon at the Salzburg Landestheater, and she will make her debut as Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk in spring 2023. As a member of the International Opera Studio in Zürich, she sang Micaëla in Carmen and Musetta in La bohème, and created the protagonist role of Song Lian in the world premiere of Rote Laterne. In the following seasons, she sang Mimì in La bohème at the Haus für Mozart in Salzburg, Dorset Opera and Theater Bielefeld, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni in Salzburg, Tatyana in Eugene Onegin at the Buxton Festival, and Micaëla at the Grange Festival and the Teatro Massimo Palermo, where she returned for the Petite Messe Solonelle. As an apprentice at the Santa Fe Opera, she premiered Laurent Pelly’s new production on opening night of Don Pasquale as Norina, and returned for the Italian Singer in Capriccio. Shelley has won prizes from the Veronica Dunne Competition, Concours International de Chant Marmandais, NSAL, Giargiari, Zachary, Mario Lanza, Licia Albanese- Puccini, and Liederkranz Foundations. She holds degrees from the Peabody Institute, Temple University, and the Academy of Vocal Arts, where her performances included Violetta in La traviata, Tatyana, Iolanta, and Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia. In addition, she spent two years of study with Mirella Freni in Modena, Italy.
